I have been a frustrated blogger for too long. Since I started to work (year 2012), I ventured into blogging with the hopes of making money online.
As I shared in my video course: Online Entrepreneurship - why I became an online entrepreneur, I mentioned that after blogging for 6 months or so, I earned $0.45!!! (Very exciting indeed)

I started blogging again last year October 2015, bought a domain name this year February 2016, reached our first $100 this August and payment was released this September. That's a total of 10 months.

It has always been my dream to create multiple sources of passive income, and blogging is one of them.
The truth however, blogging is not totally passive. It involves a ton of work, never easy but all worth it.
Here are 3 lessons I learnt in achieving this milestone:
1. Patience
If you apply for Google Adsense, it will normally take 6 months to be approved. Your blog should at least have around 20 quality (not copy-pasted) articles. I was just fortunate enough to have it approved years ago.
However, patience still is a virtue. Just imagine earning less than a dollar a day especially when you are very new. I don't know if that excites you, but it did to me! The first thing I do when I wake up is to look at my Adsense earning!
2. Persistence
According to one of the top personal finance bloggers, Fitz Villafuerte, he achieved his first 100 dollars in 6 months.
And in those 6 months, it requires you to write around 100 quality articles. That's almost 20 articles per month. And I tell you, it's not that easy!
However, you need to persist. The beautiful thing of knowing these numbers, is that you have what is called: "positive knowing."
Even if results aren't showing, you know, positively and expectantly, that you will achieve 100 dollars, in 6 months with 100 quality articles. I hit it in 10 months with 97 articles.
3. Purpose
Lastly, blogging is not meant to just make money. If you do it just for the money, it may never work. Through my blog, I was able to help a lot of people, gave quality contents and value to their lives.
What makes me most happy is when people email me back, send a private message thanking me for the contents and even more so, when people want to take a picture of me as if I was a celebrity. Hehe
The purpose of having a blog is to share and add value to people's lives.
