Almost all people have the same desires in life. They want to be wealthy, healthy, have good relationships and be in a career doing what they really love. The challenge has always been balancing all these aspects in life that sometimes, when we succeed in one part, we fail in another: (1.) We may have good business but our family life is not working. (2.) We may have good relationships with others but we are broke. (3.) While others may be over-spiritual yet lack good relationships with people.
To live the life we desire, we need to win in all aspects. And to win, we must be willing to invest in ourselves, invest in learning. So, I just attended a webinar session and it discussed about having the ultimate life makeover by T Harv Eker, author of the Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. It was a free webinar session and I want to pay it forward to you by sharing it. So here it is: the 7 steps to achieving the ultimate life we desire:

| invest in learning to win in life |
The first step is understanding what we really really, as in, really want! We need to know what we want. Most people don't get what they want because they don't know what they want. We must be specific, clear, certain! Because, clarity leads to power and power leads to action.
Enumerating, we need to know what we want in all aspects in our lives. Not just 1, but all aspects:
- money and finance: how much money or net worth do you want?
- business or career: what do you want to do as a career? what do you love to do and earn from it?
- relationship: with your partner, your friends or co-workers. every when do you want to spend quality time with them?
- health and wellness: do you want to eat healthy foods starting now? go to gym? lose or gain weight? what do you want?
- recreation and play: what do you want to do to unwind? how often do you want to do it?
- personal, spiritual and professional education: do you want to grow personally? spiritually? professionally? do you invest in learning?
- personal environment (home and work): do you love where you are now? are you comfortable with your space? what do you want it to be?
- service and contribution: do you want to keep your success to your self, or you want to serve others? how? what do you want to do to others?
Answering all those questions will give you clarity of purpose. Life is tough, and if we are not clear, we lose our purpose. Without purpose, we don't move. We need to know what we really, really want.
2. Why do you want it?
The next step is understanding why we want it. The reason why is the fuel for us to move. It is important to know what we want, but also knowing why we want it is as important also.
3. Why don't you already have it?
The 3rd step is the very critical because this shows the reasons why we are not doing and having the life we desire. Knowing the reasons why not may make us realize that we are just making excuses or justifying why we aren't having what we want.
This is sometimes the missing link. As the saying, "How you do anything is how you do everything." meaning if we keep doing the same thing over and over, we get the same results. We often try to solve the problem that isn't, instead of the problem that is. We often blame the government, our employer, business partners but never ourselves. More often than not, we are the root cause of the problem. But the good thing we can control ourselves thus we can solve the problem by improving ourselves.
Key major areas to improve to achieve what we want is to have the right mindset, character and habits.
4. Strategy or plan
After knowing all those information, the next step would then be the how. How will I do it? How am I going to do this? Here we need to write the overview plan or strategy (not the specifics yet) for getting or having what you really want.
5. First Action
This is the part where most people fail. Taking action. After all the thinking and planning, all of them are useless unless we apply them! Thinking is in the mental world, while doing is in the physical world. Where do you want to achieve success? In the mental world or physical world?
Then take action! Think less, do more.
The very important action, of all the actions needed is just the first step. The first step. Why? Because of the power of momentum. As Newton's Law states: "A body in motion will tend to be in motion and a body at rest will tend to remain at rest." It is a law! So in order to move, we just need to make the first step. Just the first step!
The only challenge is that we want to be in our comfort zones. We want to be at rest. We want to keep things the same. We hate change. However, success lies just outside our comfort zones. Success isn't easy and that's why not all people are successful. But if you really want it bad enough, really bad enough, then you will do whatever it takes.
6. Commitment
6. Commitment
Don't just think about it, write it down. Don't just write it, talk about it! And don't just talk about doing it, commit to doing it no matter what. Be decisive, be aggressive. Respect yourself by being true to your words, then you will do it. Devote yourself unreservedly.
7. Reward yourself
This step just blew my mind because truly this is the most important step as this will insure that you will keep on doing the things that you need to be doing because you love doing it. Why? because every after you do your tasks, you reward yourself may it be something small or big. The important thing is that you feel good after doing all your tasks by rewarding yourself.
This is what you call positive reinforcement. Reward the behavior that you want. Punishment system doesn't work! "Whips" don't work! Because through punishment, people can sometimes develop an immunity to the pain of punishment. And when that happens, the bigger and bigger the whips become and that is not something very motivating.
Feel good about the things you do. Reward yourself! We all need short-term rewards to help us endure the process in life.
So are you ready to change your life? To live the life you desire? Then man up and take that first step!
