Setting up a custom domain name in blogger using Namecheap is easy. They provided a detailed instruction in here in their website: See link Namecheap.
However, I couldn't find how to create a subdomain. I did some more research and finally was able to find how. Here's a simple guide how to create a blogger subdomain using your custom domain name in Namecheap:
![]() |
| blogging is also a profession |
Custom domain name: www.lifeatimg.com
and I want to create a totally different website (subdomain) for a sign-up page yet I want to maximize my existing custom domain name. I call this subdomain as join.
Therefore my subdomain name would be: join.lifeatimg.com.
other examples would be: info.yourdomainname.com or blog.yourdomainname.com
Here are the steps to create subdomain name:
1. Log in to your Namecheap account: Go to your dashboard then click on domain list.
![]() |
| Namecheap dashboard > Domain list |
2. Upon domain list, you will see a list of your custom domain names, choose the domain name you want to create a subdomain then click manage. For this example: let's manage lifeatimg.com
![]() |
| choose the custom domain name you want to create a subdomain > manage |
3. Then choose Advanced DNS, then click Add New Record
4. Choose CNAME Record, then input your desired subdomain name in the Host (for this example: join) and then input ghs.google.com for Value. Leave Automatic for TTL. Then save all changes.
5. Now go to your blogger profile: go to settings, then basic, then click on "+ setup a 3rd party URL for your blog."
![]() |
| blogger > settings > basic > publishing > setup 3rd party url |
6. Key in your new subdomain name as shown below: join.lifeatimg.com, click save and youre good to go!
