Lakang Lang: eGoal Board

Now that we understand the importance of Vision, for the second part of the series "Lakang lang: Take that first step and win in all aspects in Life." let's apply and appreciate the power of our vision.

We are familiar with dream or vision boards right? Where you cut out pictures and you post them on your walls and see them everyday. Since we are now modern, let me introduce my version: eGoal Board.

eGoal Board is an electronic version ("e" like e-mail) of a dream board with a twist. Instead of a dream board it is called a goal board. Why? (I actually have similar post about this: Make your Dreams into a Reality.) Most dreams remain dreams because you only dream about it! Make your dreams into Goals. Wake up and take charge of your dreams.

HOW? Add Time and Amount/Price.

Time: When do you want to achieve your goals (dream house, car, savings and investments)?
Amount/Price: How much is your target house worth? Your dream car? or amount of savings do you want?

Having these basic elements, you begin to be specific. Every day you know your goal, every day you are focused. And slowly but surely, you will achieve your dreams.

If you haven't noticed, my header is actually my eGoal Board. Every time I open my laptop, pad and ofcourse my blog, I see my eGoal Board. It reminds me of my goals, my specific time I want to achieve them and the amount of each goal. (By the way, I would like to give credits to the pictures I just googled and used in my eGoal Board. Though I would also like to apologize coz I can no longer trace the source of each pictures. Hehe)

Now it's your time to shine: let's start creating your eGoal Board.

As a simple guide, your dreams and goals should be SMART. We all know what that means:

S - pecific
Be specific. Mention the details. Example: Mazda 3 color black. If you know the model, much better. Happy Family: once a week dinner date, family outing every month and Sunday masses.

M - easurable
Same thing with having the exact amount/price or basically you quantify. Example: 3 Million Investment. 2 Houses, 1 in the city and 1 rest house in the provinces.

A - chievable/Attainable
&
R - ealistic
It should be within your capabilities. Example: If you want 5 Million House and Lot and you want to achieve it in 10 years time, are you capable of earning and saving 42,000 pesos per month? Don't dream for the sake of dreaming, be realistic.

T - ime-bound
Again, as mentioned, to make your dreams come true, add Time. Don't waste a day without being productive because you know you have a goal.

And lastly, because we want to win in all our Life's aspects: then make goals for each:
Career.
Finance.
Love and Relationships.
Family and Friends.
Health.
Spiritual and Emotional.
and others.

Now that we understand the importance of vision and how to fine tune our dreams to goals, it's now time to take that few tiny steps towards achieving them. Next week's topic, seeing how much time you allocate for each aspect: The 7-Scale Balance.
