Using Social Media for your Business

Social Media like facebook, twitter, instagram and more have been widely used now for communication and connection with people you love. This is one of the advantages of technology. However, it could also be a productivity killer. Having known Philippines as the most "social" country, a lot of Filipinos could spend hours liking, commenting or sharing contents esp in facebook.

But then productivity is always a choice. Being in business, 80% of your focus should be in marketing and 20% product development and having technology can surely be used for your marketing strategies. Just recently, I started using these social media tools to increase my reach to prospective clients and customers.

Here are simple ways to use social media for your business:

1. Facebook: anyone could just create their own facebook page. Just visit any page then click the button adjacent to the share button then scroll down then "create a page"[see photo below].

Creating your own page is just like creating your own website. You can post your products and services, details needed and everything. So simple yet powerful. However, it does not stop there, you need to market your page. Join a lot of facebook groups and share your page. Post it to your timeline or share it with your friends. The more "likes" your page received, the more reach or prospective clients can see your Business Page. Once it reaches a certain number of "likes", you can see some insights and statistics, how much reach or activities your page have. 

2. Twitter: Not only can you use twitter for your personal account but you could also create a business account having your business name. Maximize using the hastag [number sign] tool "#" and a description or keyword relating to your business in your tweets. Using the hashtag it marks keywords or topic, thus your business can be pooled with over keywords having the same topic as your business. Using this tool, you can reach more market searching for a specific topic. 

3. Instagram: this social media is a very powerful tool where you can download its app in your mobile phones with camera. The beauty of this tool is that you can update very fast especially events and upload what is happening right away, just like giving a live feed to your followers. 

The most powerful feature is that you can link all three accounts and one update will update all the other accounts. Example, I have linked my instagram account to my facebook page and twitter account thus once I update my instagram account, the other two accounts will also be updated. Now that's very powerful!
