Purpose: from a chemical engineer to a finance advocate

Reminding myself of my purpose
Reminding myself of my purpose
After a day's work and a good supper waiting at home, I claimed to have an easy ride and a light traffic on the road. I was positive, happy and excited even how tough the day went. But sometimes, the world has a "not-so-funny" way of challenging you. While waiting for a jeepney ride home, a crowd of competitors just keep coming and coming waiting for the same jeepney I was also going to ride. On top of that, jeepneys were always full and riding back home was a frustrating waiting experience.

An hour later, still no vacant jeepney for me to ride. While bombarding myself with positive motivation with my phone's playlist, I said to myself, "What do you want me to learn today?"

So I decided to go dine out instead of having a meal with my wife at home. I went inside greeted with Mr. Bee and to my shock, I felt a sense of nostalgia: "It's been a long time."

This place was one of my favorite spots. Years ago when I was still doing part-time as a financial adviser and full-time in the corporate world as a chemical engineer, I set my appointments in this very same spot. I remembered the feeling of my first appointment and how she complimented me: "You sound like you have been doing this a long time." and I was like a week old doing it part-time.

And that feeling, hit me! I remembered why I was lead down the path of finance despite being a chemical engineer.

When I was a kid back then, I love piggy banks and its amazing feeling of having it full. When I was introduce to the world of finance and investing, it blew my mind that piggy banks for adults exist in the form of investment vehicles.

I was excited to share the information, not because I wanted to earn commissions from my friends and families, but because I want them to experience the same feeling of having an almost full piggy bank in the world of investments.

I was reminded of my purpose. According to one of my mentors:

"Everyone of us has the right to be wealthy, only if we know the right information."

With a light heart and amazing confidence oozing out of me, I went out the fast food restaurant and around 5 minutes, I was able to ride a jeepney with enough vacant seats and a light traffic ahead.

Stuff happens everyday and then you get to choose.

Invest in your growth,
