Real-life Playing Game: Building the best RPG character - YOU

You got that right! I am also addicted to online games! I could spend whole day just playing it. There was one time during my college years that we spent whole evening until morning in a computer shop together with my brother. We ate chocolates for dinner, and as we got out the next morning we ate street food tempura. I was so high when I got home I immediately got K.O.ed and woke up 2 days after. (just a little exaggeration)

Because of this tendency, I have been avoiding playing games may it be online or offline. Sad to say, a part of me is longing this passion. However, just recently, I got an inspiration. As I am studying about personal growth, this concept came across my mind: RPG - Real-life Playing Game. I know this might not be a new concept, but I started integrating RPG with personal growth and decided calling it: building the best RPG character - YOU. Here's how it looks like:

There are 7 arenas in life that we need to develop: (1) Finance, (2) Career, (3) Relationship, (4) Fun & Recreation, (5) Health & Fitness, (6) Personal Growth, and (7) Giving & Contribution.

Relating to my version of RPG, each arena can then be classified as an armor or a weapon as follows:

1. Finance (Weapon) - having proper money management skill is being in the offensive mode. It is like attacking life to achieve the 2nd best things in life. (Trivia: The best things in life are for free. The 2nd best are very expensive. -Coco Chanel)

2. Career (Weapon or Shield) - the way you make money is also being in the offensive mode. You attack! However, it could also become an armor/shield when you decide to stick with employment or job security. When one decides to go into investments or into entrepreneurship, the risk is higher and so are the rewards. So career can then be a shield or a weapon.

3. Relationship (Armor) - having good relationship skills is an armor or protection for your heart. The better you are with handling relationships, the healthier your heart is.

4. Fun & Recreation (Speed Booster) - fun and recreation is having freedom to do whatever or go wherever you want. When you nourish this arena, it's  like having a speed booster, you are free to enjoy life like traveling and seeing the world! However, not nourishing this arena is like being stuck and you can't move.

5. Health & Fitness (Armor + Vitality) - this is also an armor to help us continue our careers and enjoy our lifestyle. Not nourishing this arena, will impale and weaken you. What good it is to have a good career or having a lot of money if we are too weak or sickly to enjoy it.

6. Personal Growth (+ Intelligence) - is self-nourishment. The mind controls the things that we do and can achieve. Personal growth is continuous learning. If we are not growing, then we are dying.

7. Giving & Contribution (Armor) - the ultimate happiness is in giving. And when our hands are fully equipped with the skills of giving, then life will truly be a blessing.

With this concept in mind, I have decided to devote a life of building the best RPG character, ME. and so should YOU. I have revamped my website for the nth time trying to find the perfect niche, but I guess with this concept, I can finally give real value to you guys, my readers, from my passion of writing, learning and playing.

Stay connected with my blog, as I will share (and have shared) some insights and tools on how to build or enhance each arena in our lives as weapons & armors and together let us build the best Real-life Playing Game character!

Invest in your growth,

Tiyo Pilo
