Love on a Happy Friday

Had a date with my girlfriend last Friday (Aug. 31, 2012) in Ayala Center Cebu. We went to watch "Romeo and Juliet" a ballet masterpiece.

Amazingly, it happened to be a "Happy Friday" for us. We were just planning to buy the second cheapest tickets (worth P300 each), when the organizer gave us a discount. The tickets worth P500 were sold to us at P300 each. Plus, the seats were exactly at the middle and on the third row from the stage. A perfect view to enjoy the play.

My girlfriend was very excited, a check mark on her to-do-in-life list. I'm not sure if it was my first time to see such performance but I enjoyed it too.

Anyway, I'm not here to talk about how great the ballet performance was, let me share a little something about LOVE...

On the part when Romeo was about to get exiled, the ground shook! Yah. As in shook. I thought it was just Romeo's jumping on stage. It wasn't. I looked above, some dust fell and the fire sprinklers were moving sideways. It was a 7.6 magnitude earthquake.

People started to panic, I didn't. But my mind was moving very fast! I kept looking for something to cover us when the situation gets worse.  What was running in my mind was (prepare yourself, I'm not planning to get mushy mushy but it just was.) "I'm gonna protect her... I'm gonna protect her..."

People were going out the cinema, we also went out. I felt sad because we weren't able to finish the play (I know she would have wanted to finish it), but understood that safety was a priority. She was trembling inside, and I was patting her back assuring "I am here. It's okay." And it was.

After that incident, love spoke to me saying "good job!" It was a wonderful feeling when you think more of your partner rather than yourself. When you are there, assuring she's safe with you. That no matter what, you are there to protect her.

The bible says:
"Love is patient; love is kind and envies no one.
Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;
never selfish, not quick to take offense.
There is nothing love cannot face;
there is no limit to its faith, its hope, and endurance.
In a word, there are three things that last forever:
Faith, Hope and Love;
But the greatest of them all is Love."

Love is a great feeling but feels best when done.
