Remember that time you
saw an amazing shirt in a mall that captured your style and the design you
like. You saw the price and it is as expensive as its quality. You decided to
save for it, waited for your salary and bought it. You loved it so much it became
your favorite shirt. You wore it during special gatherings with friends and
families and they praised how good-looking you are with your shirt.
Then one unfortunate
evening in a family dinner, your shirt was stained. No matter how you wash it,
the stain cannot be removed. You felt sad. The shirt you loved now is just a
shirt you never wear anymore.
Friendship is like your
favorite shirt. It so exciting when you meet a new friend, have new
experiences and start to build a good relationship. You enjoy each other’s
company while starting to open up and give your trust and earn his/hers. But
when that time comes when someone commits a mistake, that mistake stains the
relationship. And no matter how you look at it, the stain just could no longer
be removed. The trust is gone and the memories built are ruined. One spits foul
words to the other and the other strikes as you turn your back.
But life is simple, so
why complicate it?
·
If the damage is done, then why dwell with it?
·
If the friendship is gone, then let it go.
·
But if you value your friendship more, then you would not focus on that
stain in your shirt.
The good memories built
would be far more important than the mistakes made. You weigh the good memories
versus the damage done and find it yourself which one weighs more. And if
friendship is heavier, then one should humble him/herself and step up to
declare his/her intention. Truly, the stain could no longer be removed, but
still never forget that you once called it your favorite shirt.
