My real name actually is Teofilo Mari Bacalso.
I was named Teofilo because it is the name of one of the respected bishops in our place, Msgr. Teofilo Camomot. He was someone that my mom really looks up to and just few days after his death, I was born. The name's kind a ancient but I am proud to be named such. Teo coming from the Greek word Theos meaning God, and Filo from Philia meaning love. Therefore I am named as a God-loving person.. :) And as of this date, Archbishop Camomot is currently in consideration for sainthood in the Roman Catholic Church and I do hope he will be.
Mari, as I was born in October which is the month for Mary, Our Lady of Rosary. And that's Mari without the "e" (Mari not Marie), I'm a guy you know.
Bacalso, ofcourse, is the family name of my father. :)
So why Tiyo Pilo? Because I'm Teofilo and I'm a Cebuano, proud to be. :D
